blago1

It’s always great sport to watch the Democrats eat one of their own, so for me to feel sorry for ex-Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich is not going to happen. However, this goes deeper than just a corrupt politician being booted from office. It magnifies the corruption that entwines the whole of government.

Blago was allegedly caught on tape trying to sell the Illinois Senate seat vacated by Barack Obama.  There is room for debate on this, but the real questions are why did they swoop in before he actually had a chance to commit the crime? How can it be a crime until the money passes into Blago’s greedy little paws?

I suppose we could fall back on the argument of conspiracy to commit a crime, is a crime. If that’s the case then why is Jessie Jackson Jr. not charged with the same crime? He is after all the person who had the cash and offered to buy the Senate Seat.

At best, we are witnessing a lot of loose play with the law. The US Attorney made the original allegation about Blagojevich trying to sell the Senate seat, but then supplied no proof. The taped conversation was more arrogant bluster than proof of a crime. No witnesses were called, no indictment was handed down, rules were rewritten which virtually guaranteed a conviction. No one submitted any real proof of a crime yet we have an impeachment.

The bottom line is that he had to be sacrificed. With a nod from the Democratic Party and help from Blago himself, the media was able to paint him as an embarrassment. I question this because if embarrassment is a reason to impeach then Ted Kennedy would have been gone long ago. I suspect a man like Blago has a closet deep with skeletons many would like to see go away. Barack Obama comes to mind – wink, wink, say no more.

Personally, I say good riddance to Blago, but the way this conspired raises more of a concern than the alleged crime.

The only question now is will they tie up the most obvious loose end and charge Jessie Jackson Jr. for offering to pay for the Senate seat? I think we all know the answer to that.

One major issue facing the Obamanation  is Afghanistan. The importance of winning goes far beyond just victory, but proving to our allies and enemies that we are capable of completing what we begin.

Any President wishing to prove himself worthy of that title would not tie a loss in Afghanistan around his legacy. But these are not normal times and there are socialist agendas to consider and complete.

I suppose the only question now is when will Reid-Pelosi-Murtha and the usual cast of characters demand the old tactic of  cut-and-run thus finally claiming defeat in Afghanistan?

The betting windows are now open.

Normally I wouldn’t bother with such a trivial story, but sometimes you just gotta go with it. You may remember in a 2005 Beijing press conference, George Bush tried to exit through a locked door. Of course the press was elated and spared no effort in reporting this blunder worldwide at every opportunity.

By contrast Barack Obama tried to enter the White House Oval Office through a paned window instead of a door, just to his right, and there is nary a whisper from the media. “I know there was a door handle here yesterday.”

I guess to the partisan media one man’s blunder is another man’s mistake. And they wonder why so few trust the media.

The leftist Democrat figurehead Barack Hussein Obama warned Republicans on Capital Hill that they need to quit listening to the Rush Limbaugh radio program if they want to get along with Democrats and the new collectivist administration.

“You can’t just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done,” he told top GOP leaders, whom he had invited to the White House to discuss his nearly $1 trillion stimulus package.

Obama reminded everyone that he won the election and intends to get his way on the stimulus package and all other legislation. In other words, the Obamanation warned the GOP that in order to get along – you go along. It seems Obama believes that Republicans won’t get their minds right and attuned to his socialist agenda if they continue listening to Limbaugh.

“We are experiencing an unprecedented economic crisis that has to be dealt with and dealt with rapidly,” Obama said during the meeting.

Obama’s need for doing it fast (before anyone catches on to what is really happening) is more important than doing it right. You might recall the first 850 billion that had to be sacrificed immediately or there would be a financial collapse. That money grab proved to be a lie as will this second round of payoffs. We know it is a lie because Obama seems unwilling to take the time necessary to come up with a proper financial solution. The question not being asked is what’s the big hurry to get it wrong?

Obama also understands that people are more susceptible to radical change and are willing to give up hard-fought freedoms during a crisis – real or invented.

It is no secret that the goal of the Obamanation is to transform the US into a full-blown European style socialist system. For this to work smoothly, Obama must operate under the veil of speed and crisis in an effort to create changes so devastating that it will be extremely difficult if not impossible to turn back without a complete collapse.

Republicans still in the game complain the price tag is too large a burden for a nation crippled by debt and that it doesn’t do enough to stimulate the economy by cutting taxes. John Boehner (R-Ohio) questioned the size of the stimulus package and how spending hundreds of millions on contraceptives can stimulate the economy?

The Obamanation’s worst enemy is truth and light during this time of deception. Unfortunately it is not clear if Limbaugh’s future efforts will make any difference since most Republican leaders have transformed into spineless cowards. So in the midst of their crawling we can expect freedom of speech to be put the test as Obama makes his run to silence all opposition, including Limbaugh.

Change you can believe in.

inauguration

The time has come for the 44th President to take office. There is much excitement from the walking dead about the choice of Barack Hussein Obama as the first black U.S. president. This fact is tempered by anxiety that the United States is fighting wars in Afghanistan and Iraq and faces its worst economic crisis since Jimmy Carter.

Coupled with the man-god is the resident oaf, Joe Biden. This anti-dynamic duo is set to lavish the nation with hope, change and political folly sure to make us reflect upon the Great Depression as the good old days.

It’s hard not to blow chunks watching the media portray Obama as the great savior all the while playing down our expectations. The media worked hard to get the Obamanation elected making it crystal clear they will do everything in their power to keep him afloat.

One CNN report stated that Obama’s words are so important that they will be chiseled in marble. I suppose that it would be too much to ask the media to wait until these golden nuggets actually fall from the Obamanations mouth before making this report. The sad part of this is that the people have lost another check and balance against a tyrannical government – the media.

Finally, how can we not touch on the Hollywood stars and Washington elite that will make an appearance to offer worship to the Obamanation. The fashion crowd will swoon over whatever Michelle Obama decides to parade out. It will be a spectacle ironically supported by rows of porta-potties standing at attention supplying the appropriate air to the event.

Yes, the time has come for the inauguration of the 44th President supported by the dance of the walking dead. May God have mercy on our soul.

The actor Patrick McGoohan played many roles in his long career not the least of which was Number 6 in The Prisoner. A cerebral style of entertainment many now embrace as a cult-classic.

McGoohan said of the series, “Nobody has a name, everyone wears a number. It’s a reflection of the pressure on all of us today to be numbered, to give up our individualism. This is a contemporary subject, not science fiction.”

If pure adventure is what you crave then, “The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh” ranks as one of his best. From the Scarecrow’s eerie laugh in the opening scene to outsmarting the King’s soldiers at every turn, there is quality from start to finish.

The interesting relevance of this three-part series is that it portrays a real event. A story about what happens when those in government become tyrants. A time with harsh laws, heavy taxation, and the average citizen has a hard life forced upon them. In fact, while watching this film you might gain a glimpse into the Obama years.

Thanks for the memories Patrick McGoohan, alias Dr. Syn.

obamacoronation

Just four years ago the inauguration of George W. Bush cost in the neighborhood of 40 to 50 million dollars. The left seized upon this opportunity to bombard the airwaves with relentless attacks and high-pitched whining. Democrats questioned how it looked to promote such extravagance during a time of war, especially when the money could be better-used providing healthcare for children or paying down the national debt. They clamored the money should be spent for aids in Africa or to ease the suffering in Darfur.

Now that the leftist standard-bearer Barack Hussein Obama is about to be inaugurated, all these good intentions seem no longer relevant. With 150+ million dollars flowing like water, why are we hearing only whimpers of euphoria? Where’s the Democrat outrage or Republican outrage for that matter? Where are the humanitarian cries, “for the children” from the usual suspects? No, we only see the political hypocrisy in motion from Obama-worshipers as they celebrate no matter the cost.

Isn’t it amazing how perceptions can change in just fours years? If only this were true, but the reality is that perceptions haven’t changed it’s just we are witnessing the true colors of the Democrat Party.

This inauguration is truly a historical moment that many will celebrate through the spectrum of color or race. Others will recognize it as the defining moment when capitalism succumbs to socialism. A moment when government becomes the slave owners and the people become the slaves working for their political masters.

Quite Ironic since Obama claims to pattern himself after Lincoln.

Q: How many Obama voters does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: None. Hoping that it would change is quite enough.

The time of the Obamanation is almost here. No surprise that he is not in office yet and already saying he will be unable to fulfill his campaign promises. Not sure whether to be happy or disappointed since it’s hard to come up with  any real campaign promises Mr. Socialism made that ranked beyond illusion.

One thing for sure is he will soon discover that standing on the outside complaining during a campaign is much different than being the one who is responsible for the decisions.

Should be interesting.

Q: How many Democrats does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: None. It’s burnt out on the Republican side, so we’re not changing it.

Happy New Year from Lord Crimson

Blog vacation over – back to work.

Update: Don’t you just hate people that come to work sick and take out a whole section? I recently found that I do. [cough, cough, sneeze, so much snot!]
