CynthiaMckinneySuffering from too much time on her hands, the former U.S. Rep Cynthia McKinney (D-GA) discovered the need to export her particular brand of stupidity to the rest of the world. McKinney, never one you would accuse of being the smartest person in the room proved that fact by violating an Israeli blockade into Gazan waters.

The Israeli navy contacted the boat, which it called the Arion, while it was still at sea and warned the crew they would not be allowed to enter Gazan waters because of security risks in the area and the existing naval blockade.

The Arion crew, which included McKinney decided to disregard the warning. We can attribute this oversight either to her ignorance of the situation or possibly a mental defect. Her antics while in the House seem to support the latter. The Arion entered Gazan coastal waters where an Israeli Navy force intercepted, boarded and took control of the boat.

The Israelis directed the boat toward Ashdod Israel were McKinney and the other crew members were handed over to the proper authorities.

“This is an outrageous violation of international law against us. Our boat was not in Israeli waters, and we were on a human rights mission to the Gaza Strip,” said McKinney before authorities confiscated cell phones. It turns out McKinney and the crew members are a part of the Free Gaza Movement.

“President Obama just told Israel to let in humanitarian and reconstruction supplies, and that’s exactly what we tried to do. We’re asking the international community to demand our release so we can resume our journey,” McKinney said, according to the group.

Although McKinney’s stated motive was to deliver humanitarian supplies into Gaza, she should know from her time as a US Representative that there are proper channels to consider. For all anyone knew the boat could be delivering guns and munitions to Hamas.

Israel has made it clear that, “Any organization or country that wishes to transfer humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip can legally do so via the established crossings between Israel and the Gaza Strip with prior coordination.”

I seem to have mixed emotions about this. I feel sorry for the Israelis who are forced to deal with McKinney, yet on the bright side, she is not here.
