Gates

How interesting that the president of the United States would insert himself into the middle of a racially charged conflict between a police officer, Sgt. James Crowley, and a prominent African-American scholar, Professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. of Harvard.

Gates accuses the officer of racism, a charge Sgt. Crowley adamantly denies, apparently with the backing of other officers on the scene. Obama admits he wasn’t on the scene, doesn’t have all the facts, and only has “suspicions” about what went on but concludes the Cambridge police acted “stupidly.”

Let’s see – I don’t know the facts, but the police acted stupidly. That’s just beautiful, and speaks volumes about Obama.

Last week Obama dumped on the white firefighters in New Haven and this week it’s a white cop in Cambridge. It looks like no matter if right or wrong, President RaceCard is cultivating a reputation of siding against the white folks.

A Little Info About Professor Gates

Gates teaches in the department of African-American studies. What exactly is African-American Studies? It’s an entire department devoted to creating racial friction. All of his academic writings are about racial issues. Everywhere the man looks in the world is filtered through the prism of race. He expects to see racism and therefore does, even from those there to help him. So, instead of appreciation for the effort of protecting his home, he overreacts and is belligerent to the police.

Conclusion

The bottom line is you have an obnoxious citizen challenging the cops to arrest him and he got his wish. Obama jumps in and uses stereotypes instead of facts to conclude what happened.

Obama was elected in part because people believed he would heal social divisions rather than deepen them. I guess we can scratch any idea of him contributing a positive force in race relations.
