Learn to live with reduced expectations

In an effort to deflect a rising frequency of calls for his resignation, U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner said that “the root source of our current troubles can be traced back to the Reagan Administration. Remember, it was the tax cuts and deregulation pushed by President Reagan that unleashed an abnormal expansion of economic growth. The American people became accustomed to an unhealthy pace of increasing material prosperity that is incompatible with the more socially conscious restraint President Obama is trying to bring to this country.”

“Rising home values, rising investment values, rising salaries all stimulate a sense of greed that is at odds with the type of new nation Obama is trying to build.” Geithner said, “This country was already on the path to learning to live with reduced expectations under President Carter until Reagan took us off the track.”

Geithner insisted that “those who criticize what we’re doing now to get back on track are deluded by an unrealistic optimism about the future. In most of the rest of the world people are much poorer than even Americans who are out of work. Accommodating to lower expectations and living standards is the path that the President has chosen for this country. The sooner people get with the program the easier it will be for all.”

Don’t you find it interesting that Obama felt the need to lie about his real goal of lowering expectations and living standards? Spread the misery – who could see that coming? I bet next time we’ll get a better definition of Change.

Wonder if Obama and his den of thieves are on the same road to poverty? Not a chance, but it does raise the question of how much of the stimulus package money found its way into personal bank accounts.

I mean, how hard is it to notice that the treasury is being looted?

Have you noticed that every golden nugget that drops from Obama’s  lips is really fool’s gold?  No pork in the Porkulus Bill – give me a break.

The one thing about Obama is that no matter what he says, believe the opposite and you are golden. The Obamanation doesn’t deal in truth only telling people what they want to hear so he can get on with advancing his socialist agenda.

The good news is with his consistency as a liar at least we know where the truth is hiding.

With a  chance to put the obscene Obama over-spending package to rest “Republicans In Name Only” Arlen Specter (R-PA), Susan Collins (R-ME) and Olympia Snowe (R-ME) sprinted to the side of the Obamanation in a selfish effort to slam one more nail into the national coffin.

Hope each of you enjoy your 30 pieces of silver.

Foreign Aid, what better way to keep a country poor and it’s leaders corrupt. It should be no secret that foreign aid has increased the poverty level in many a developing country. It eliminates the essential incentives required of government to open trade markets and provide a stable economy which is necessary for it’s citizens to build wealth and prosper.

Over the past decade, the news media has taken pride in criticising industrialized nations as being stingy for not giving enough foreign aid to 3rd world countries. But as usual, the news organizations focus on the wrong end of the story. Could it be that there is plenty of money being given, but that the problem is at the receiving end. I don’t know, could it be that the corrupt leaders of these countries use the billions received to build their personal wealth and use food as a weapon against the very people it is intended.

A simular scenario is happening all over the world, but let’s stroll down memory lane and take a look at a recent example of corruption by a famous leader -

For decades, many countries have provided foreign aid to the Palestinian people. Literally billions of dollars have exchanged hands and yet things never get any better. Why? One reason became clear after the death of Yasser Arafat. It seems that he was diverting the foreign aid intended for the Palestinian people into a personal, well stocked Swiss bank account. His own people are living in poverty while he was stealing money meant to help them. What else needs to be said?

On your quest for wisdom you must understand that compassion for your fellow man is a wonderful human trait. In many cases it brings out the best in us as human beings. If this were a perfect world… well it’s not, and unfortunately many leaders of these 3rd world countries are rotten to the core. So the next time the news media tells you that not enough foreign aid is being given to developing countries, at least consider for a moment, maybe it is.

Whenever possible I try not to take life to seriously. I mean lets face it, the best any of us can hope for is a good 70 to 80 years. After that it’s “wipe my face” or “change my Depends.” Having said that I still find myself wasting precious time watching the TV news channels. And every time I do, I ask… Why?

With 24 hours to fill you are presented with the same news stories and sound bites over and over, not to mention opinion polls. Ahh yes, opinion polls. There should be a warning message in the lower news banner every time a poll result is read. “This news organization has found that it is much easier to conduct opinion polls to reflect how we think it should be rather than to depend on the truth.”

On your quest for wisdom you must remember to always question news organization polls. The questions in a poll are formed to get a desired result which are then reported as news. Do not be fooled by this popular deception.

It seems only fitting that I personally thank the men and women of our armed forces. We must never forget the source of our freedom, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your sacrifice.
