Al Gore’s Fishing Tale

with 12 comments

Al Gore has betrayed environmentalism and yet where is the outrage? Why are there no environmentalist coming out and condemning Gore for his seemingly unforgivable crime? Anyone else would have been publicly destroyed, but as yet not a word.

So, what is Al Gore’s crime?

Only one week after the Live Earth concert, Al Gore served Chilean Sea Bass otherwise known as Patagonian Toothfish at his daughter’s wedding in Beverly Hills. Patagonian Toothfish is arguably one of the world’s most threatened fish species on the planet.

So the question remains, are environmentalist going to prove themselves a bunch of hypocrites by giving Gore a pass after his willing and blatant attack on an endangered species?

  3. He doesn’t care about the fish, he cares about Mother Earth. I don’t think the fish count because they tick off Mother Earth by pooping in the ocean. 🙂

  4. Hi tammi

I hear that they are very tasty, which is probably the reason they are endangered. I wouldn’t mind giving one a try. If it’s good enough for Al, it’s good enough for me.

  5. Hi tt

Old Al is something else. He’s just another deceiver and user of mankind that will continue at the expense of those that fall for his craft. Anyone who will, can see that there are no parallels in what Al Gore demands from others and the way he lives his life. Fortunately more and more are beginning to pick up on that.

  7. Aside from the joking…….1/2 of the Chilean Sea Bass caught in the world are illegal and there is no way to trace which are which. This means that al isn’t only buying fish that are endangered, there is no way to know if his particular fish are poached. That’s why he is partly responsible for supporting poachers………but I still like the product………steve

  8. Hi Steve

I must admit that I don’t care who eats Chilean Sea Bass, actually it sounds pretty good. It’s just the blatant hypocrisy of Al Gore and how it should be brought to light at every occurrence.

  9. Your right.

It is especially good. It is legal to eat it. When you, I and al eat it we could be eating poached Sea Bass or Not, no one could know. Therefore you, me or al could be eating poached Sea Bass and thereby unwhittingly be supporting the illegal use of SeaBass institutionally. You and I would admit that possibility, but al would Lord over his environmental senstiivity while we are just a couple of clods.

Same thing as he criticizes our use of gasoline for 4×4’s etc. When he travels with his entroague he rides in bigger cars but parks near the event to drive in with a Prius. He defends it by “claiming” he is purchasing carbon credits (which is a scam whether he is actually purchasing them or not) and he has postured his companies to make millions by humbling you into buying the same.

On the other hand if it is true (I don’t buy it though) that he has a carbon “neutral” footprint, how does that help when we have to reduce our carbon usage as a society not hold it level if we are going to save the planet………hold on a second, I need to clear my eyes…. thanks…steve

  10. Hi Steve

No matter how much Al whines about the over use of gasoline it’s still pretty much the only game in town. Most cars run on gas and no amount of complaining is going to change that.

Maybe Al should use his time, energy and millions to come up with something more efficient instead of complaining about it. Heck, I wouldn’t even begrudge him any future wealth if he actually contributed something of value instead of just being a cranky old man that complains about everything.
