Internet For Oil

with 5 comments

It appears that the west has finally discovered a way to negotiate for lower Middle East oil prices. Recently, there have been at least three cut undersea internet cables which have disrupted service across the Middle East and South Asia.

Flag Telecom reported that a repair ship would arrive in the next few days to restore the cable. The repairs should take about a week.

This does raise the question, does the west have leverage over the oil rich Middle East countries after all? I’m thinking Internet for Oil. Consider the possibilities.

  4. Hi Tammi

In this day and time you gotta keep all options open. It seems a better idea than entering into another war with some other Middle East country and in the end having to rebuild that country too.

Plus it would irritate them beyond measure, and isn’t that what it’s really all about.
