Obama – The Great O-bomination

with 25 comments

Socialists For Islam

The lack of substance surrounding Barack Obama has been a point of question for some time now. He’s not known as the king of platitudes for nothing. Suddenly, from the Senate floor we have indications of why Obama remains aloof and refuses to be plainspoken with the voters. We now have a good idea as to the course of an Obama presidency.

I have long suspected Obama has more of a global agenda, than what is best for the people of the United States. My suspicions turned to horror with the discovery of the “Global Poverty Act.” This is a socialist-oriented bill sponsored by Obama, which quickly passed the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and will result in the infliction of a global tax on the people of the United States.

This bill forces levels of US foreign aid spending subservient to the dictates to the United Nations. The legislation would commit the US to spending 0.7 percent of gross national product on foreign aid. This is $845 billion over and above what the US already spends.

This also clears up the real reason why Obama wants to withdraw troops from Iraq. It’s not because the money can be better spent in the US as he claims, but rather to increase funding to the United Nations to be spent as they see fit. For whatever reason Obama has hidden away, he obviously plans to transfer as much US wealth to the rest of the world as possible. The “change” Obama has in mind will make The Great Depression look like a party at Teddy Kennedy’s compound.

What makes this so insidious is that the major media has been involved in a cover-up by not publishing this information. It clearly demonstrates their desire to see Senator Obama elected to the presidency.

This is only the tip of the iceberg and we can but wonder what other tidbits is the major media keeping from us? Fortunately, this ray of light slipped through, which helps us to understand a little more about The Great O-bomination.

  2. “The lack of substance”

His platform is actually very detailed, very much moreso than McCain adn Clinton. Just look at the website!

Actually, the picture that heads your post leads me to believe you’re just a racist moron.

Cry hard when he becomes president!!

  3. Hi Dumbo United

This Obama sponsored bill provides needed information about the direction Obama wants to lead. Precious little of that is reaching the voter. Why you choose to give him a pass is your affair, but it’s hardly something to yawn about.

  4. Hi Ingmar

Great argument… disagree and all you have to offer is the old racist tag.

Obama’s platform is smoke and mirrors heaped on hope and change. If I’m wrong then please explain why you think he would make a good president.

  7. I think the details are getting a little muddied as this news travels over the web. It’s not 800 billion a year, its that much over 13 years.

The act isn’t giving money to the UN to spend as they see fit. It is using the UN Millenium goals as a guideline to what we need to do to help cut world poverty in half by 2015. The 0.7% is recommended by development experts, but the act calls for our president to create and implement programs, not the UN.

The tax would be how we decide to pay for the programs, Jeffrey Sachs suggested a carbon tax.

You can look at this as socialism, but even this great amount of $65 billion a year would not even out incomes of poor nations with ours. Deadly pandemics are hitting areas like Africa because so many of their people live on less than $1 a day (1 billion worldwide) that they cannot afford to fight diseases like AIDS and malaria. The money would go to fighting these emergencies. We would gain a lot of worldwide respect by helping in this effort, besides it being the compassionate thing to do.

  8. The fact you even chose to categorize this as “Muslim, Religion, Islam” as well as all the other categories you chose shows that you are obviously trying to purposely take Obama’s bill out of context. Personally, that money is much better spent helping the poor, which America helped to create via free trade laws and imperialism, than some war for which there never was any legal evidence or basis.

  9. Here’s an idea. Why don’t the Saudi’s pay for it? Saudis don’t pay any taxes but rather get a check from their gov’t every month. They have money to spare. I don’t. I am STILL waiting for my Clinton middle class tax cut. Obama is making the same silly claim.

    Jimenez,

The US didn’t create poverty via free trade. It was already there. And it was there LONG before the US ever existed or ever got involved. Those countries have themselves to blame. Like when is Mexico which has plenty of natural resources gonna get its political crap together? 2nd most UN aid gets ciphened off into corrupt holes. This is why private aid agencies are more effective.

Besides, I prefer Pax Americana and Yankee imperialism to say Islamic imperialism or Russian or Chinese imperialism. The world is going to have some empire, it might as well be ours. Just go ask a Greek about how benevolent the Islamic state of Turkey was. Better yet, ask some Armenians or Georgians. Put down your silly Marxist propaganda and read some Augustine and Hobbes and firgure out the way the world really is.

    Debra,

They can’t fight Malaria because liberal enviro nuts won’t let them use cheap mosquito controlling chemicals to spray their huts.

And lastly it doesn’t matter how much money you throw at poverty in Africa. Study after study confirms this. The major problem is no free press, no reliable police force and no political pluralism. Money won’t get you any of that. In fact your own precious UN listed capitalism and FREE TRADE as the main cause for the major decrease in world poverty in the last 30 years and projected more FREE TRADE would eventually wipe it out in most places in the next 100 years by lifting people out of poverty. Socialism never did and never could do it, because Socialism is predicated on a false view of the world, where people are inherenlty good and if we all just smiled more, we’d get to that gnostic perfect world just around the corner. All that ever produced was a big stack of dead bodies or lots and lots of illicit sex or both. This world will always have inequalities no matter what you do, so get off your morally vaccuous hobby horse. Your mouth is writing checks your worldview can’t cash.

  10. Hi Debra

“The Obama bill, says a global tax will be necessary to force American taxpayers to provide the money.”

This is the most important point in the article. It provides a clue to what an Obama presidency will be like.

  11. Hi IC Jimenez

The categories are accurate because some of the money will end up in Muslim hands. It is also asking, “Who is the real Obama?” We really don’t know much about the guy other than he can deliver a speech that says nothing, but somehow inspires devotion. Hitler could mesmerize when he spoke and we all know how that turned out.

It’s a citizens duty to ask questions and not follow “any” politician with blind devotion.

  12. Hi Perry

Check, check and check. Well said.

Blaming America for every problem in the world proves to be the easy way out. It is just another lie that springs from the liberal-socialist agenda. It deflects the responsibility from those that are actually responsible for things like poverty or even the spread of AIDS.

    Thanks for your insight.

  13. Lord Crimson,

This is Lord Zenspa and I say that you’re missing the whole ship. You are a hypocrite cannot see because of the mole between your eyes.

America is a suddied nation. Morialistically decayed and in need of fresh ideology and Godly characteristics to save us from destruction.

Our latest crime is that we have devasted the Middle East and desecrated their land and I suspect some of their women. Hence HIV and other diseases spreading globally. Collectively as a nation we can fight for a new America. OR WE CAN ALL DIE from the virus. Or the WAR! If this war does not stop NOW, those Saudi Arabians with the money can and will say the word and Then we’ll really see weapons of mass destruction.

Someone has to has vision and God on their side to fight all this destruction and war. Someone who can unite ALL peoples, races and nationalities. That includes you Bob, which is what I think your real name is.

Obama is that man and the O is for O GOD!

  14. Hi zenspa

I see that you’re not a fan of America. Too bad, you’re really missing out on something special. Granted, if the politicians would get out of the way it would be much better, but don’t get me started on that.

Bitter are we? Please tell me, what place in the Middle East would provide you with the freedoms you now enjoy? Why does slavery appeal to you more than a freedom of choice? I know that the PC movement has taken it’s toll, but you are allowed to think for yourself, unless you are… whoops in the Middle East.

If for some reason Obama does become president, then there will be those who won’t get what they imagined, but will get exactly what they deserve.

  15. Lord Crimson,

I agree with you. Unfortunately, the rest of us will also end up with what the others deserve. I think that this bill is sad, and the fact that we are being “forced” to give our money to such causes.

For all you liberals out there, how about you donate money where you want, even if it is for global poverty, or whatever. I will donate my money where I like, and for the causes I believe in. Don’t try to force your beliefs on me just because it is what you think is right.

As far as the bill goes involving government to raise taxes on our nation, I really think we are headed in the wrong direction. Our government should be getting smaller, not larger. Smaller in spending, control, and other areas. Democrats have been trying for years to create a large dependency on the government by creating welfare programs, social security, medicaid, food stamps, and other things. Those things may have their place, but many are becoming dependent on them and it is ridiculous. Throwing money at global poverty is not the answer. Once the plan was completed, who is to say that the people of the world would be able to sustain themselves anyways? What if they then become dependent on us for more money into the future? I think that our money is best used right here in America and not in this global load of crap that they are trying to feed us.

  17. Listen to the Lord of Crimson. Everyone knows a president has supreme power and can do whatever he or she wants with our money. I mean, sure the Brooding One of Red Cape assumption is based on nothing, but the Brooding One needs proof of nothing.

  18. Hi imagine

Sadly you are correct. The rest will have to endure what is coming. It’s the price we pay when too many in a nation become complacent.

Liberals don’t donate their own money, they donate other peoples money then take the credit for being so caring.

As you say, we are headed in the wrong direction and a smaller government would be a good start. However, to expect government to take away power from itself is a lost cause. No, our government will continue to grow judging my the number willing to elect an illusive candidate spouting hope and change but providing little in the way of how.

  19. Hi Perry

The government has long since crossed the boundaries for which it was established. If allowed, those in power will acquire as much control as possible. Socialism provides them this avenue but takes a destructive toll on the people forced to endure such a system. It always falls upon it’s own weight.

  21. Hi debra,

President Bush has made great progress helping Africans get their malaria problem under control. You should watch the news about his current trip to that Continent. Of course, our money would be better spent sending them vast shipments of DDT instead of mosquito nets, but that’s another discussion. As to AIDS, control of that takes no money at all, merely that people stop screwing around and sharing needles. It’s 100% preventable, and I see no reason why tax dollars should be spent on anything related to the disease other than informing people as to how it’s transmitted.

    Hi LC,

Good post and discussion. It does seem that most people have come to the conclusion that the liberal elite have chosen Obama. Of course, if the only other choice is Hillary, one can hardly blame them.
